You may find this interesting...or not

Ok, this is going to be an odd, scattered, post- but those of you who have been reading my blog for a while probably aren't expecting anything else.
See if you can follow the breadcrumb trail of my thoughts without getting totally lost....
This post started because I wanted to give a shout out to my Darling Hubby (DH) Doug for starting his own blog "Fumbled Returns".
The interesting thing about (DH) starting his own blog is that he has always been the type to say "why?"-"why would anyone want to write a blog?" "I don't get it".
So, his starting a blog gave me 2 separate and unrelated ideas for posts-
1) a list of reasons why people "blog" - (I have been thinking about this quite a bit lately because many bloggers- *myself included* seem to hit a "blogging" slump around the holidays, questioning what they should blog about) (it is also timely because I read Zan's Sirius Sighthounds blog this morning and I think her post is a wonderful example of one of my "reasons" for blogging :-) http://siriussighthounds.blogspot.com/2009/01/memory-maelstorm.html
I do believe there are right side of the brain reasons for blogging- and left side of the brain reasons for blogging. If you stop over to visit Doug's blog I think you will find that many of his posts are very left side of the brain type posts, while I am ALWAYS in my right mind- sorry could not resist. More on this topic later.
Because..
2) Then, just being silly- I thought "I wonder how I can tie Doug's blogging in as one of the "signs" of the end of times/ Armageddon." Just because this topic seems to be very much in the forefront of our "collective unconscious". (familiar with the web bot project?) The History Channel probably threw that project completely off. ;-)
Anyway,.. I start trolling for these "signs"- Nostradamus, Mayan calendar, and of course my only true source of prophesy- The Bible.
Well, obviously I did not get my silly- "end of the world" post written
BUT
I did find the following:
I Timothy 4:1-3 "men who... advocate abstaining from meats which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth."
Timely to Stephen's post on "Plus Est En Vous"

Ack! December 21, 2012!

Scary that the Mayans, Aztecs, Egyptians and Nostradamus all pinpoint that date as the end. ::gulp::

I'll avoid all the puns about right mind or left mind...

I'd rather just play with peoples minds...

Thanks for sharing that link!
As could be expected, I saw the figure spinning clockwise (right mind, lol ;-). But I couldn't figure out how anyone could see it any other way- so I stared/ studied it, until I got it to spin the other way! Cool- but it sort of gave me a headache, Using the left side of my brain does that;-)

Alex, I deleted my previous comment as on reflection, I don't think it quite came across as I intended. Now let me try again :-)!

Interesting and disturbing post Alex, but thanks for the link back.

I had to go look up your 1 Timothy quote and frankly it bothers me more than the Mayans, Egyptians, etc. Take a look at this PETA url http://www.peta.org/sea_kittens/index.asp

If we take these groups seriously, we certainly can't consider consuming any animal. Can banning plant consumption be far behind? How do we know that corn doesn't feel pain when it's harvested. We also subject wheat to that torture device known as the thresher. How can we be so cruel?

I think you're correct, these folks and their agenda are certainly evidence of impending Armageddon.

I can't make Doug's lady spin any way but clockwise no matter how hard I try. Guess I'm doomed to right brainedness (definitely not a word - sorry Addie!)

Gee Hun, Sorry for the headache.
And I know my blog(s) are not as good as yours, but = the start of Armageddon? Really?
Guess that falls into the category...
Save the blogger, Save the world ;-)

Whew! This is a lot to think about, and that naked spinning lady was a trip. I couldn't "make" her change direction, but she kept doing it anyway.

Zan, I did also check out the Sea Kittens link, and the whole point you raise about food becoming illegal (!) is really something.

Now my head is spinning, too!

Addie

PS - I'm ok with right brainedness. :-)

So, do all the "in my right mind" and "right brainedness" folks walk leading with their left foot?
I have this strange image of folks walking around with a strange yet common limp (dragging the right leg behind them) ;-)
