Quotes for bloggers

If my doctor told me I only had 6 minutes to live, I would not brood, I'd type faster-
Isaac Asimov

So why do we blog?
For some it is a personal journal, to help us remember who we were, how we felt, in one small instant of our lives-
"Remember tonight for it is the beginning of always"-
Dante Aligheri
"The palest ink is better than the best memory"-
Chinese proverb

It lets us tell our side of the story-
"History will be kind to me, for I intend to write it"-
Winston Churchill

It can be a cathartic-
"We are healed of a suffering only by expressing it to the full"-
Marcel Proost

Blogging allows us to reach out to our fellow man (uh- blogger)
"The life I touch for good or ill will touch another life, and that in turn another- who knows in what far place my touch will be felt"-
Frederick Buechner

Sometimes it is to find those who believe in the same causes we do and to "rally forces"
"When we have the courage to speak up, we inspire the rest of the "moderates" in our communities to speak up"-
Sharon Schuster
"There is ONE thing that matters, to set a chime of words tinkling in the minds of a few people"- Logan Pearsall Smith

One can find new friends-
"If you are a misfit within a group of misfits, does that mean you are actually popular and normal"-
Laura Preble

Or communicate with love ones -
"Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close knit family, in another city" -
George Burns

But always on your own terms-
"When they are alone, they want to be with others- when they are with others they want to be alone- human beings are like that"
- Gertrude Stein
(with blogging we actually can have it BOTH ways- amazing, no?)

What is a blog but a biography/autobiography?-
"Read no history, read nothing but biographies- for that is life without theory"-
Benjamin Disraeli
"There never yet was an uninteresting life"-
Mark Twain

Why I love "comments"-
"Good communication is as stimulating as black coffee"-
Anne Morrow Lindbergh
"The person who tries to live alone will not succeed as a human being. His mind shrinks away if he hears only the echos of his own thoughts"-
Pearl S. Buck

Once in a while you will find a very special "blogger", one with an amazing gift to share- the gift of humor/ wit

"Humor is the great thing, the saving thing, the minute it creeps up all our irritations and resentments slip away"-
Mark Twain
"Life is tough, but when you have the ability to laugh at it you have the ability to enjoy it"-
Salma Hayek
"Humor is a rubber sword it allows you to make a point without drawing blood"-
Mary Hirsch

If you need some humor in your life I recommend:

And I leave you with this-

"Words are of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind"-
Rudyard Kipling

Alex, thanks so much for the link and compliment. These are great quotes.

Another reason I blog is that it lets my ideas travel the world for free. Since my body has to stay here and answer the question, "What's for dinner?", at least my thoughts should have some fun, right?
