artistic "dog" license

I am looking for muses/ inspiration.
If you have a greyt picture of your hound- that might make a good sculpture, will you post it on your blog- and let me know?

What a fantastic sculpture...you're so talented! I have some silly roaching pictures, but it looks like you've got that licked. I'll see what else I can find.

Hi Alex, I found your blog from Leslie, I hope you don't mind that I am here.
That sculpture and your grey hound really look alike. It made me say that the greyhound was also a statue. :)

The sculpture looks really cool. Wish I were that skilled with my hands. At least the sculpture had the decency to cover herself up with her tail :)

Someone beat me to the cockroach: http://lifewithdogs.blogspot.com/2004/08/graceful-one.html

And you did a great job with it. I'll try to find something newer to add, perhaps this weekend.

Looking forward to seeing what y'all come up with.
Nigel,Sola and co., I LOVED your "roaching" photo, but if I sculpted that pose no one would believe it was based on a "real" dawg! I have lots of little kids around, so let's keep all suggestions rated "G"- well ok, maybe "PG". so glad you dropped by my humble little blog- you have a new loyal follower.

Cool! How did you learn to sculpt like that?

Great sculpture! I lack all artistic ability..total science brain. But feel free to snag any photo from my blog for your sculpturing pleasure. ;-)

What talent. I just love seeing them roaching and you captured it perfectly. Drew is the king of roaching and half the pictures in my camera are of him on his back. People at work wonder why I have pictures of a dead dog on my desk. I'll have post some on our blog.

what a greyt sculpture. I would love to be talented like you. I will see what I can find for you and feel free to use any of the pics on the blog. It would be wonderful to see one of the kids immortalized as one of your sculptures.

Alex,

Look at the top picture in this post http://neversaynevergreyhounds.blogspot.com/2008/06/sexy-dog.html
I love that picture of Travis and he was just gorgeous anyway. I have that picture as a HUGE file, so his head can be cropped out of a much larger picture. Let me know if that's something you are interested in.

Jen,
Travis was indeed a gorgeous, sexy, greyhound. I agree that a head bust of him could be stunning (though I probably can not do him any real justice). A full body pose would be harder because up until now I have not used armatures of any type. Thus I only make TINY standing figures out of Fimo clay- (those fine legs would collapse under the weight of the body in a larger piece). But if any dog can inspire me to try using an armature, Travis is probably it :-)
