As you know our friends at Houndstooth were visitor # 10,000 - and thus we owe them a prize.
Having fun with one of the photos Carrie sent me of her gorgeous hound Bunny, I decided to branch out into a new medium; watercolors.
Now "experimenting" on someone else's greyhound definitely doesn't sound good, but I promise, no hounds were harmed in the creation of this print,
and I did warn her that you get what you pay for...
So here is where the "help" comes in. I am looking for a witty caption/ title for this pic. (The intention being to print it into a greeting / note card- my first thought was something like "Tales from the couch..." But I know y'all can do better) And how about we say, the winner gets some note cards too ????...
Never Say Never, but....

How about
Paws for reflection...
Oh wow! That turned out really beautiful!
I've always felt like she was saying "Don't hate me because I'm a greyhound!" Ha ha!
It's beautiful!!! I'm not clever at all but will sleep on a possible caption. I hope you have another contest for your 20,000th visitor : )
ha ha ha
re-found it! (this will only make sense to you if you read my email.)
i like doug's.
i'll think on this. probably starting tomorrow. stilling hanging hard today (again, i blame sedaris!).
and i'm posting one more time, just because the word verification is "slyme". i like that. it's slime and sly me all in one.
Oh Katy, sly maybe, but slime?
Only if the hounds found a particularly good place to roll.
Are we blaming David Sedaris??
Awesome! I'm friends with houndstooth and came by for the viewing. I loved the original photo too.
Pleased to meet you. I'm Twinkie the tiny Chi.
Twink!
What a lovely painting, and a lovely Blog, Alex! I can't believe I've missed discovering your Blog till now!
There are already some greyt caption ideas that have been presented, but I'll throw one more into the mix. . .something I've used myself on occasion: "Dare to Daydream"
"Greyt cooking smells Mum - could you please bring me a morsel? I'm resting!"
What a lovely picture!

I was thinking, for a greeting card, something like "I'd visit rather than write, but that would require getting off the couch"... but that's probably too long!!
As for the dog bites - they were both in Idaho (one was an old blind and deaf dog, so when he put his hand up to her to smell, well I guess he caught her offguard!) ...tho, to be fair, you have to know he worked there for 8-10 years, and here he's probably only been on yards 8-10 times... so not a good sampling yet! But, I would say in all the time we lived in Idaho, there were less than a handful of times we were approached by an offleash dog and felt threatened at all...so, I don't know!
I am seriously impressed after looking at the pic. Great work!
