I "DREW" a Surprise
I saw the photograph this picture is based on over at Nuttin But Hound Dogs ,
I loved the color and composition so much, I had to try to "paint" it with my oil pastels.
Poolie- I'd be glad to mail it to you, if you e-mail me your address.

Peaches and Acrylics
This past weekend was our local peach festival. There were lots of friends to meet:
And fun activities for the kids:
Unfortunately, it was HOT! The bouncing"pillow" was roughly the same temperature as the surface of the sun.
But panning for fools gold gave the kids an excuse to get wet.
And yes, we did pick half a bushel of delicious white peaches-
but this is the only picture I have with peaches in it

Because while we were busy "picking" guess who had the camera
On to "acrylics"...
I did this rough sketch
Alaina asked if she could paint it. So, of course I let her- and I think it came out pretty well.

New Hobby
Alaina attended an art camp this summer, and returned home with a pack of oil pastels and much inspiration.
Enthusiasm is contagious, so soon I was giving them a try as well.
Below are my attempts, the first based on an Edwin Cooper painting, the second based on a John Paul painting. (The mats are from Walmart ;-)
